Drinking
Drinking
The
Bible condemns drinking to excess. It doesn't tell where to draw the line
between being sober and being drunk, so we have to decide for ourselves if
we are going to take that risk.
Ephesians
5:18,19
|
And
do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled
with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to
the Lord

Corinthians 6:10

nor
thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor
extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
|
1
Corinthians 5:11
|
But
now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a
brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or
a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner -- not even to eat
with such a person.

Galatians
5:19-21
|
Now
the works of the flesh are evident, which are:
adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery,
hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish
ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness,
revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I
also told you in time past, that those who practice such things
will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Luke
1:15
|
For
he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither
wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy
Spirit, even from his mother's womb.

Peter 2:21,22
|
For
to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us,
leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: "Who
committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth";
|
Romans
14:21
|
It
is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by
which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.
